Rajeev & Motria’s Wedding Invitation
It had to feature peacocks, it had to be Rococo-esque, with influences from Art Nouveau and South Asian art (the groom was Bengali), while the overall feel of the card had to be reminiscent of a Klimt painting.
The result of these initial instructions was a simple sketch, with a somewhat Rococo feel, which, once gilded in copper/gold hues, also garnered some South Asian flavor. Klimt-esque though, is still a ways off.
As is often the case, a good deal of the interesting parts come after the fact, once a final version of the card is printed and alternates can be created.
